Saraguro
On Sunday Danie, Carrie, Eric, and I bused it over to Saraguro for the day. They have a ginormous food market and we stocked up on some goodies. Then we walked around town and got some lunch.

Carrie remembered seeing a giant corn (choclo) statue when we bused through on the way to Cuenca, so we asked around, found it, and took some pictures with the corn.

For dinner back in Loja, we had family dinner with vegetable noodle soup with produce from the market and fresh blackberry pie yum!
Oh, and Carrie cut my hair!
(above: nasty lookin snake alcohol) We found a plaza with a church and a bunch of jewelry vendors- all real live Saraguro people. I love the way they dress. Lots of black (skirts and pants), but the women also wear a ton of colors. And they all wear fantastic hats. I got some fun colorful jewelery.
